HUNTER SHOW RULES

  1. Enter on-line at http://www.assistexpo.ca/kingston-district-ag-society

  2. All competitors must be fully paid members of the Kingston District Agricultural Society for the current year. Adults = $5.00. Under 17 = Free. 

  3. Entry fees and membership fees may be paid by e-transfer to kingstonfallfair@gmail.com or with cash/cheque on the day of the show. 

  4. Entries must include signed liability waiver, proof of liability Insurance for both the horse and rider (current OEF membership or copy of insurance agreement) 

  5. Entry Fees are $5.00 per horse/rider combination per regular class. 

  6. Late entries will be subject to a $5.00 late fee; however will be accepted up until 30 minutes before your class. 

  7. Entry fees will not be refunded without a 24-hour notice and appropriate medical documentation. KDAS membership fees are non-refundable. All no-show entries will be charged full entry fees. A $50.00 charge will be added to all accounts with a cheque returned from the bank for any reason. 

  8. If there are no entries in a class as of 6:00pm on Thursday before the show, class may be cancelled. If less than 3 entries in a class, classes maybe combined.

  9. Ribbons will be awarded in each class to 5th place. In classes where prizemoney is awarded money will be: 

  10. Prize Money 1st - $40 | 2nd - $35 | 3rd - $30 | 4th - $25 for classes 5 – 16. 
    Prize Money for Class 17, Relay Pairs:  1st - $60 | 2nd - $50 | 3rd - $40 | 4th - $30

  11. Formal Hunter style show attire is not mandatory; half chaps and paddock boots with neutral breeches and a white collared shirt are acceptable. All persons mounted on a horse at any time while on the show grounds must wear a properly fitting and ASTM/SEI-approved riding helmet and horse-safe footwear, and a competitor’s number. An English-style tack in good repair with an English bit is required. Riders and/or mounts deemed to have unsafe equipment or who show unsafe or unsportsmanlike behaviour may be stopped at the in-gate or may be asked to leave the show grounds at the discretion of the Hunter chairperson and Judge. Entry fees will not be refunded should this occur. The judge’s decision is always final. 

  12. In the event of a fall of horse or rider, the rider must leave the arena unmounted and must be checked for signs of concussion before their next class. 

  13. Those entering Walk/Trot classes may only show in Walk/Trot classes. Leadline riders may only show in Leadline class. 

  14. You may only show in two consecutive jump heights.

NOTE: There will not be a separate warm-up ring. The arena will open 15 minutes prior to the show start for warm-up. No entry to the arena before warm-up time is announced.
