President’s Message
Welcome to the 194th Kingston Fall Fair!
I am excited to be stepping into the role of President of the Kingston Agricultural Society and to be working alongside such a dedicated and passionate group of volunteers.
My connection to the Kingston Fall Fair began when I was just 14 years old, entering crafts and culinary competitions as an exhibitor. The fair truly is a family connection for me. My mom first got me involved many years ago and she has spent over 30 years volunteering, running homecrafts and serving on the executive committee. Through her, the fair has given me lasting friendships, meaningful experiences, and a true sense of community.
I am grateful for the support of my family, friends, and fellow fair board members, whose encouragement and dedication make this role even more meaningful. Our society is built on the strength of its volunteers. The time, energy, and heart that our members give is what makes everything we do possible. From planning events to maintaining traditions and creating new opportunities, this team shows up again and again with enthusiasm and commitment.
As we look ahead, I am excited about what the future holds for the Kingston Fall Fair. While we continue to honour traditions of farming and agriculture, we also look to reignite interest in our community during these modern times, embracing new ideas, fresh energy, and opportunities. There are many exciting things on the horizon, and I look forward to sharing them with our community in the fall.
Whether you have a little time or a lot, we are always looking to welcome new volunteers. Volunteering with the Kingston Agricultural Society and being part of the Kingston Fall Fair is a wonderful way to meet people and support local agriculture. Thank you to everyone involved in the fair--our volunteers, partners, and community members. I am looking forward to a great year ahead.
Warm regards,
Heather Ambrose-Smart
